Думаю, создавать новую тему смысла нет.
Если флеш установлен, опера видит его в opera:plugin, но консоль сыпет ошибки вида

Консоль:

Gtk-ERROR **: GTK+ 3 symbols detected. Using GTK+ 2.x and GTK+ 3 in the same process is not supported

Opera Plugin Proxy: Could not start up plugin

и видео не показывает, то нужно скачать с оф сайта архив оперы 11.01 и скопировать оттуда файл operapluginwrapper в каталог /usr/lib/opera с заменой уже существующего
Также решается проблема видео для opera-next
Проблема, как я понимаю, с оперой >11.01

Раз флеш установлен, найдите файл libflashplayer.so и сделайте симлинк /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so, потом перезагрузка оперы. В opera:plugins должен появиться пункт Shockwave Flash. Значит всё работает. Но это для оперы 11.01, старшие версии у меня в упор отказались видеть библиотеку

tyrnov, IMHO, конечно, но версия portage слишком нова для ebuild'ов

Опера тоже проприетарна и распространяется в виде бинарников. Пересобрать ее невозможно. Попробуйте поредактировать пути поиска плагинов в опере.
А еще, убедитесь, что www-plugins/adobe-flash установлен с флагами 32bit и 64bit.

В хроме и хромиуме "вшит" свой флеш-плеер.
Видимо, в репах калькулятора очень старые ебилды для флеша.
Здесь можно взять актуальные, по которым всё скачается и установится.

Она только предлогает зайти на офицальный сайт флеша

Систему поставил вчера после сразу поставил оперу. emerge --sync выполнял перед попыткой установки флеша.
