Последние попытки за десяток перезагрузок не поднялся один раз.

Чего сделал - поставил debian и настроил с помощью pppoeconf, заменил гентушный /etc/ppp на Debian.
гентушный ppp (убрал из /etc):

Все -таки лезет оно туда.
Не пойму как включить в лог больше отладки, debug вроде везде где можно...

Ну вот почему надо обязательно net юзать, генту-вейно если...
Например в deb реализация - postup - pon provider... И что интересно работает без нареканий... Надо там подсмотреть, что за конфиг создает pppoeconf.

Остановите сервис smartd
 Консоль:

/etc/init.d/smartd stop

а затем запустите так

/etc/init.d/smartd -d start

Вывод покажите.

И да вот как избавится от:
