Если мне не изменяет память, это позволяет при получении настроек от dhcp-сервера не переписывать сервера синхронизации времени NTP и информационной службы сети NIS.

и еще - тот dhcp что запускаеться при загрузке интерфейсом eth1 - запускаеться медленно - задержка гдето 15 сек.

Это ядро 3.0.6.
Я добавляю эту опцию вручную в .config
но после очередного make oldconfig или make menuconfig опция исчезает из .config
и broadcom-sta опять не хочет собираться
либо добавить зеркала в /etc/make.conf от куда качать может в каком будет.
