Установил драйвера для видеокарты, куроводствовался вот этим - http://www.gentoo.org/doc/ru/nvidia-guide.xml
Максимум FPS - 60. Пробовал переустанавливать драйвера но не помогло. Устанавливал вторым вариантом. без настроек ядра.

Тогда по идее нужно пользовать nvidia-legacy-drivers.

95% процентов проблем находятся между клавиатурой и стулом.

Почему вы не используете архитектуру amd64для своей системы?
Для x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers включите USE=acpi, да и для всей системы лучше включить этот флаг.

Если вы не собираетесь в ближайшее время использовать встроенную видеокарту, отключите полностью CONFIG_AGP, CONFIG_DRM

не заметил lspci... ориентировался по xorg.conf

попробуйте отключить:

Option  "AddARGBGLXVisuals"  "True"

и перезагрузить иксы.
glxgears должен начать показывать полный fps(если вам это действительно надо), но компиз может перестать работать.

ЗЫ: по идее компиз может сломать работу опенгл приложений.
ЗЗЫ: так проблема в чём именно? в компизе, в неработоспособности прог, использующих опенГЛ  или в писькомерелке(glxgears)

Fat-Zer, проблема в том что неправильно работает видеокарта. При просмотре фильмов они начала тормозить, при передвижении окон икажается изображения, то есть, линии искревляються. так, как будто драйвера не установлены. Но я их устанавливал.  ac

Option      "UseEDIDDpi" "FALSE" — вам эта опция ни к чему, у меня компьютер подключён к телевизору и сам не может поддерживаемые разрешения определить, пришлось отключить.
Я приводил свой конфигурационный файл к тому, что с моими настройками ядра и выбранной архитектурой получаются соответствующие «попугаи».

Пересборка ядра на работоспособность Gnome вряд ли повлияет. Я имел ввиду именно пересборку всей системы под вашу архитектуру.
Как жест отчаяния предлагаю установить маскированную версию x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-270.18 — это нестрашно и работает.

Причем отлично работает. С самого начала использования Gentoo у меня драйвера нвидии размаскированы. Проблем еще никогда не было.
Только сомневаюсь, что это делу поможет.

Хуже точно не будет. Но, по-моему, она по-дефолту, если поддерживается, включена. У меня в конфигурационном файле она специально не включалась, но в логах видно, что поддерживается и включается.

Немногj не в тему может быть, но этого на нвидии быть не должно. По крайней мере у меня EE было, пришлось сделать так
