Здравствуйте!
Есть SentOs 6.3 на почтовом сервере.
Автоматом грузится графическая среда GNome.
Поставил VNC, все работало довольно не плохо 2 недели.
В воскресенье заходил из дома - сначала через RDP на Windows sever, от туда через RDP на свой комп,
от него на сервер SentOs по VNC.
В понедельник утром стало происходить следущее:
Как только система переходит в граф. режим - экран становится черным, изображения нет,
не реагирует на  Alt+Ctrl+ (Fn, BackSpace) и вообще ни на что (например NumLock). Возможно зайти только по SSH.
При этом сам сервер почты работает (собственно почему ему не работать... :-) )
Я так понимаю, что слетели настройки экрана или что-то в этом роде,
как исправить положение или как вернуть к настройкам по умолчанию?

Спасибо за содействие, Vascom.
Очень хотелось бы разобраться....
При соединении через VNC он ругался на невозможность отпределить Display и Work_Area, но тем не менее запускался...

Для начала покажите xorg.0.log.old и xorg.conf

Да, для таких простыней тут есть тег spoiler

Потом я бы попробовал загрузиться без иксов, стартануть их руками и посмотреть что скажет.

Удаленно? Тогда ssh -X должна работать. Иксы стартуют, насколько я вижу. ИМХО, дело не в них.

Истинный hotplug - это обычная электрическая розетка: воткнул - работает, и никаких драйверов.

Последняя загрузка происходила именно без X автомате, я тормознул его runlevel'ом и в ручную набрал startx.

я так понимаю, что что-то в этой настроке сбилось, особенно судя по xorg.conf, запустил Xorg -cinfigure - выдает Number of created creens does not mach number of deected devices... Может где старая версия xorg.conf могла сохраниться ? или его пересоздать можно ?

Xorg -configure собственно и должен его создавать

А зачем он вообще нужен-то?
Перемести куда-нибудь конфиг и запусти без него.
Я про /etc/X11/xorg.conf

ну да... все верно, вот я и запустил Xorg -configure, когфиг переметил, а он все равно выдает ошибку:
Number of created creens does not mach number of deected devices...

Попробуй удалить этот конфиг.

Логично. Монитор-то не указан. Действительно, а если удалить/переименовать?

завис опять.... Можно сделать Xorg -configure из удаленной ssh сессии ?

так вроде все правильно... 0 1 2 3 как Monitor'ов так и Screen'ов.... ?

это нормально, что в секции ServerLayout упоминание про Screen'ы есть а про Monitor'ы нету.... ?
Подключен у меня только 1 моник.... так на всякий случай....
