Вобщем нашёл понятный для себя монуал по настройке точпада http://lug32.org.ru/mediawiki/index.php/Тачпад_и_мышка
Делал всё как там сказано используя 1-ый способ.
Прописал в xorg.conf параметры, собственно мой xorg.conf прилагаю:

Перезагрузил комп и попробовал отключить точпад на что получил:

[root@RFRemix Notebook]# synclient TouchpadOff=0
Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?
[root@RFRemix Notebook]#

Собственно на этом я стопорнулся и не знаю что и делать...
Проверил установлен ли драйвер synaptics на что получил:

Пакет xorg-x11-drv-synaptics-1.2.1-1.fc12.i686 уже установлен, и это последняя версия.
Нечего выполнять

Подскажите пожалуйста как настроить, в чём проблема?

lsmod | grep synap

?

но вот беда - не могу привязать к действию втыкания-вытыкания внешней мыши... ,
пробую прописать(создать) /etc/udev/rules.d/99-touchpad.rules
