Прежде всего читать:

Запускали /usr/sbin/libpng-1.4.x-update.sh ?!

Запускали lafilefixer --justfixit?

А сама проблема со сборкой описана в /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.21a/temp/build.log, вы же только показали сообщение об ошибке  wink

Был, был и весь вышел...

кстати до этого при сборке чего-то возникала проблема с питоном и там же предлагалась команда для исправления, я ее ввел, вроде не ругалась.

Точнее проблема была в версиях питона. Как я понял, с помощью команды предлагалось изменить используемую версию по умолчанию.

Поменяйте версию, 3.1 ещё не всё поддерживает и при установке об этом честно предупреждает.

Просто так переключить python скорее всего не получится, после 

eselect python set 1

нужно будет выполнить python-updater.
Почему же никто не хочет читать вывод консоли после выполнения команды emerge ...? Сколько проблем можно было бы избежать!  smile
